Three utilities kick-off BPA commercial lighting program

The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) selected three utilities this spring to conduct a six-month pilot project called Energy Smart Commercial Lighting. The purpose of the project is to introduce customers to BPA’s commercial lighting incentive program and promote installation of energy efficient commercial lighting by businesses, schools, churches and governmental agencies.
Participating utilities are Central Electric Cooperative in Sisters, Ore., Elmhurst Mutual Power & Light in Tacoma, Wash., and Milton-Freewater City Light & Power in Milton-Freewater, Ore. The three will offer the pilot project to all commercial and industrial customers. “This is a win-win for utilities, customers and lighting trade allies,” said Ray Hartwell, BPA commercial lighting program manager.
A schedule of workshops and events has been organized in each community to provide an overview of the Energy Smart Commercial Lighting program:
